[G-SHOCK 2023] G-B001 Revived in the Present Age with a Detachable Bezel

On December 1, Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced “G-B001”, a new product of the shock-resistant watch “G-SHOCK”, where you can enjoy different designs with a detachable bezel.

There are 3 types of coloring models, the yellow x rainbow “G-B001MVE” is 44,000 yen, the gray x gold “G-B001MVB” is 33,000 yen, and the black x silver “G-B001MVA” is 34,100 yen. Both will be released on January 27, 2023.

The G-B001 series is a reprint model that inherits the form of “NEXAX (DW-001)” released in 1994. The DW-001 has a concept of “capsule tough”, and unlike G-SHOCK, which had a rough and hard form until then, it expresses strength with a soft form based on curved surfaces. Popularly known as “Jason”.

The new G-B001 series has evolved the concept of DW-001, and in addition to “enveloping”, it has “the pleasure of the moment of opening”. The detachable bezel, which is inspired by “capsule toys”, reveals a metal bezel when the resin bezel is removed. The texture of the metal bezel has been enhanced by hairline processing and mirror processing for each part. In addition, only the yellow x rainbow “G-B001MVE” comes with a replacement resin bezel and band.

Smartphone cooperation via Bluetooth is also a major evolution point from the original model. The dedicated app provides functions such as clock time adjustment, world time (about 300 cities) that can be easily set by selecting a city from the map, and time & place that records the places and times visited.

The main functions of the G-B001 series include 20 ATM water resistance, world time in 38 cities around the world (38 time zones, daylight saving time compatible), time switching between home time and world time, stopwatch, timer, alarm, full auto calendar, afterglow function. Equipped with LED backlight etc. The drive is a battery type (CR2016), and the battery life is about 3 years.
