Casio designers are often inspired by different aspects of nature, including the power of phenomena that humans cannot control – among these are two new watches DW-5600TGA-9 and DW-6900TGA-9 (appeared in July 2020). The elusive flash of lightning and its natural power is what the Japanese see as an idea for colouring their fresh G-Shocks.
Most of the case and half the strap are bright yellow with a hint of similarity to a lightning. The other half of the strap is white and the holder is black – the tricolor models are usually the most successful in terms of colors. The dial has the silhouette of that very flash of lightning.
Both models are designed as watches for top athletes and ambassadors [athletes promoting the brand] of G-Shock. The inscription “Absolute Toughness” on the strap as if hints – you wear the most reliable and durable watch that will resist any attack of nature. It sounds a bit pathetic, but we know that G-Shock is doing a great job.
“Yellowness” is a reminder of sport and running shoes as the most important attribute for training. And the manufacturer directly hints at the unisex direction of DW-5600TGA-9 and DW-6900TGA-9, knowing how many girls also like to wear G-Shock.
There is also a purely female version of Baby-G BGD-560TG-9 for fans of very compact cases, but with the same impact resistance.
There are no differences in functions from the basic versions – stopwatch, timer, alarm, calendar, hourly signal and backlight. BGD-560TG-9 also has world time – it can also be useful.
The waterproofness of all is universal – 200 meters.
