   I think my PRW-6611Y-1 is a great watch. My only complaint is with the automatic lighting, which turns itself on constantly, at a flick of the wrist, even when I’m not looking to know what time it is, and therefore drains the battery uselessly.

      You can turn off the Auto Light Feature. Just follow these steps:

   Hi Alex, I am looking for a Protrek watch similar to the PRW-6611, BUT is there such a model which is with the 10 year battery instead of solar? I have not owned a solar before and nervous as to how long the “expected life” is.

   The features specifically important to me are:

   1)Thermometer/Barometer/Alarms.
   2)Extremely good night time lighting. (My eyesight is not the best!)
   3)Numbers on dial. Ideally all 12 hours, but just the 12, 3 and 9 o’clocks is ok.
   4)The feature which keeps the time accurate by “receiving a signal”. IE does not need manual correction.

   Finally, I am in the UK, and can buy the PRW6611 through the UK Amazon for £255. That is my maximum budget.

   Your help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi David. There are no Pro Treks with 10 years battery, but you may choose Solar instead (it will work even longer). These models are the most suitable for your needs: PRW-50 and PRW-51. however, you can check our listing here https://casiofanmag.com/protrek/solar/

         Wow! Thanks for such a speedy reply which is very helpful. Just one other question:

         The Amazon UK listing is PRW-6611Y-1CR (they state they import this model from the USA), but I have found, from browsing other sites that it is listed as PRW-6611Y-1ER. Are there any practical differences between the two types/versions?

            No, “ER” means the Europe Region, while “CR” means the worldwide. But the model is PRW-6611Y-1.

   Hi Alex,

   Thanks for such a swift and helpful reply. Just one other question: I have found the PRW611 model as 2 versions on Amazon (and several other sites). The first ends in -CR (saying imported from the USA), and the more readily found version ending in – ER. Are there any practical differences between the both? The -CR version is about £15 cheaper (including import duties).

      The price may vary slightly depending on the region imported from, but the model remains identical.
