---|

GG-1000 looks and feels like a half baked version of the GWG-1000 |
Might be too big and clunky to wear (56.2 × 55.3 × 17.3 mm VS traditional 48.9 × 42.8 × 13.4 mm in DW-5600) |
If snow gets on the top of it for a short while, condensation appears on the watch face |

About the Watch in short. Junior representative of the dirt-resistant line of the G-Shock Mudmaster. The special design of the buttons and the casing prevents dirt, dust and sand from entering. “Large and aggressive” is how the GG-1000 can be characterized in terms of design. The durable and wide strap removes all questions about the reliability of its attachment to the case – special inserts on the inside tightly fix the watch on the wrist. An analog DJ dial with two digital windows contributes to a more convenient display of data, and contrasting hour markers improve the readability of the analog zone. The dual sensor acts as a budget assistant in harsh conditions – a thermometer for measuring ambient temperature and a digital compass showing the direction in the form of a degree measure [the second hand points to the north]. The watch has a basic set of features – a timer, alarm clock, stopwatch, world clock and LED backlight that works in automatic mode [activated when the wrist is turned].

Official Casio Description. This is the latest new addition to the MASTER OF G MUDMASTER Series. Mud Resist construction helps to ensure that nothing gets into the watch when down and dirty work takes you deep into the dirt and sludge. Multiple gaskets are used on the pipes that guide buttons and shafts, which keeps mud out. These pipes not only act to protect buttons from impact, they also enhance button operation.
In addition, Twin Sensor capabilities provide instant access to direction and temperature information when needed under tough conditions.

*some images are about G-Shock 5000/5600 cases, but the technology, approaches, concepts and philosophy remains the same for the whole G-Shock Model Range
Hollow case structure. Based on a realization that “shocks are not transmitted inside a bouncing rubber ball,” the structure was designed to let the module float inside the case, relieving shocks transmitted from outside. Today, the module’s shock resistance is realized through further technical innovations. But the revolutionary tough structure that gave G-SHOCK its origin began here.
All-directional covering. If the watch is dropped, the protruding bezel fully enclosing it absorbs the shock, protecting the buttons directly connected to the module and alleviating shocks from all directions. The bezel also guards the surface of the crystal. The band is curved stiffly at the point of connection with the case, moreover, enabling it to serve as a shock absorber and prevent direct shocks to the back of the case.
Protective cushioning of key parts. The crystal oscillator and other critical parts inside the module are guarded individually by cushioning material. Any strong shock to the watch causes immediate distortion of the cushioning inside the module, preventing contact failure and malfunction.
Japan Quality. Constructed with genuine quality, CASIO products provide truly practicable applications in which functionality and beauty combine. The leading-edge LSI technologies and skilled craftsmanship that give life to CASIO watches exemplify the quality Japan boasts in the world marketplace.
For CASIO, “faith in manufacturing” refers to an inexorable advancement of digital technologies and an uncompromising commitment to fine craftsmanship. This faith engenders unparalleled performance that not only elevates CASIO watches as close as possible to perfection, but that actually changes their wearers’ lifestyles.
