MR-G
300 worldwide limited edition
Fusing 1,200 years of Kyoto craftsmanship with the dignity of MR-G.
A shock-resistant full-metal body + GPS HYBRID radio controlled, solar-powered timekeeping* combine in a timepiece adorned with the traditional beauty of Tsuiki hammered metal.

G-SHOCK introduces a limited edition model to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the brand’s top MR-G line.
The Tsuiki metal hammering technique used for centuries in such traditional metal crafts as armor and copperware making is applied to produce a distinctive hammered pattern to the surfaces of the bezel and band links, while the color pattern adopts the Oborogin silver-gray and Akagane copper coloring observed in traditional metal crafts.
Diligently finished one point at a time by Tsuiki masters, the hammered parts all display slightly differing patterns and a solid texture exuding a beautiful gleam. A metal plate laid out on the side of the case, meanwhile, commemorates the 20th anniversary of MR-G’s birth. This meticulous exterior finishing creates a look appropriate to a 20th-anniversary commemorative model.
While continuing its pursuit of leading-edge functions, such as GPS HYBRID radio-controlled, solar-powered timekeeping, and of innovative structures, such as the shock-resistant full-metal Clad Guard Structure, MR-G has achieved fusion with the beauty of traditional craftsmanship. MADE IN JAPAN pride lives on with gem-like beauty.
MR-G has limited distribution to just 300 items worldwide.

*GPS HYBRID radio-controlled, solar-powered timekeeping: A system powered by Casio’s original solar-recharging system combined with GPS (Global Positioning System), which uses satellite signal transmissions to determine locations and provide accurate time information worldwide.

Adorned in tradition:
New heights in molded beauty achieved through ar tisans’ skills

Distinctive hammered surfaces infused with the spirit of craftsmen
Tsuiki metal hammering technique:
Ebossing patterns on thin metal plates from the underside by hammer

Employed for centuries to conduct engraving on such metal products requiring robustness as armor and copperware, thisforging technique is used to imprint a hammered pattern on the bezel and band link surfaces. The result is a solid outer surface texturing that exudes a lovely glow. Conducted at the hands of skilled craftsmen, the hammering produces individualized pieces that display differing expressions from point to point.

Tsuiki Master Bihou Asano
Bihou Asano was born in 1943 into an old Kyoto family of Tsuiki metal hammering masters. In addition to pursuing creative activities under the name Heian Miyoshi III, he engages in the repair and reproduction of National Treasure metal artworks. While continuing to work in his inherited artistic tradition, he was pleased to collaborate in developing this product due to his appreciation of MR-G’s vision of product manufacturing as an ongoing challenge.

Traditional metal coloring arts producing a beautiful look
Oborogin muted silver and Akagane copper coloring
The color scheme combines a lustrous Oborogin silver-gray 3D index with Akagane copper-colored front screws and crown. This combination of traditional colors passed down through the centuries contributes a profound beauty to the appearance.
