The Ultimate Guide to All G-SHOCKs — composed by Experts

Our colleagues in Japan have shared a photo of the new GA-2300 series that CASIO plans to introduce in April 2024. While there isn’t much information available yet, we have a good reason to be excited about the updated design. You can share our opinions in the comments section below.

The model’s full name is GA-2300-4A, and it does not have BLUETOOTH capability. It is intended to be an affordable addition to the G-SHOCK OAK collection. The watch still features the signature octagonal case, but the curvature between the edges has been slightly modified.

The model’s display features a crossbar with carbon inserts at the center, giving it a unique and bright appearance. Functional elements are distributed coolly throughout the remaining space.

The left dial displays the days of the week, which is not new; it is the same in GA-2100. However, unlike the first OAKs, this model has two separate LCD windows, which we think improves readability. We will see if this is the case in a future detailed review. The digital dials’ background is not of “calculator” type but can change its shade depending on the watch case, giving it a stylish look [it is pink in GA-2300-4A].

Additionally, there are some new resin elements at the point where the case attaches to the strap, indicating a new design trend.

The watch looks colorful and bright, with a style that appeals to the Japanese aesthetic. Given its budget and lack of solar power (judging by the inscriptions), we expect the GA-2300 to retail for $100-$150 and become another great addition to the budget OAK collection.
