About the Watch Design. Introducing a collaboration model between G-SHOCK, which supports men who are active in harsh and “tough” environments, and the Kobe Municipal Fire Department rescue team, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018.
The base model uses the GW-B5600, which is a compact square case, while being equipped with functions that support the activities of firefighters who need accurate time and information in any situation. This time, we are also trying to reduce the weight by using titanium for the back cover, free ring, and beautiful lock.
In terms of functionality, pursuing accurate time accuracy, it is equipped with a Bluetooth® communication function and multi-band 6 that supports standard radio waves from 6 stations around the world. In addition , the time and place at that time can be stamped on the map of the app by linking the dedicated application G-SHOCK Connected * with the button operation of the clock. This new series was created by assembling five world-popular G-SHOCK models that were specially selected by JAHAN LOH, a visual artist based in Singapore who is noted for combining “highend visual pop art” and “modern street art.” LOH then used these G-SHOCK models to create exciting new original designs.
The design themes for these models are the Chinese philosophy of Five Elements and Five Virtues. The five elements are those that make up all things: fire, water, wood, metal, and earth, while the five virtues are the five virtues of Confucianism.
JAHAN LOH represents each of these concepts with the images of five generals from Chinese history, and each model is given its own distinctive look using original printing technology.
