These new models feature the same cotton strap, continuing the trend of eco-friendly materials in the G-SHOCK range. The cotton used in the strap is sourced from TrueCotton, a brand known for its fully controlled production chain that ensures authenticity and reduces environmental impact.
To achieve the natural coloring of the strap, the Japanese designers collaborated with FOOD TEXTILE, a company that specializes in recycling food waste to create natural dyes. Coffee bean extract and echinacea were used to achieve the desired colors. This not only gives the watches a unique style, especially with the stealth dial matching the case color, but also contributes to a more sustainable approach.
The case of the GA-B2100CT models is made from bioplastic, making them both shock-resistant and environmentally friendly. These watches are also equipped with solar power, Bluetooth connectivity, and essential features such as world time, stopwatch, timer, alarm clock, calendar, LED lighting, and 200-meter water resistance.
Priced at around $180, the GA-B2100CT models are slightly more expensive than the base version, GA-B2100-1A, but the investment is justified by their eco-friendly features and advanced functionality.
