About the Watch Design. G-SHOCK and King Nerd announce their collaboration with the launch of the GM-6900GKING-9ER timepiece, limited to just 300 pieces. Based on the iconic GM-6900 model, each watch comes on a custom King Nerd printed strap and is accompanied by a sticker and a limited signed and numbered print featuring King Nerd artwork. The unique artwork created by King Nerd also continues across the watch’s packaging.
The GM-6900GKING-9ER comprises of a gold IP stainless steel bezel and black resin band bearing King Nerd’s iconic style. Staying true to all that a G-SHOCK promises, this watch is 200m water resistant, shock resistant and robust. It also features an electro-luminescent backlight, flash alert, countdown timer, alarm, and calendar.
King Nerd, also known as Johnny Dowell, is a British designer and artist, who is renowned for his intricate engraving work, which is in such high demand, his style has been adopted for exclusive pieces by the likes of Harley-Davidson, Jaeger LeCoultre and fellow G-SHOCK collaborators, Bamford London.
On the collaboration, Johnny Dowell, aka King Nerd, commented “Working with G-SHOCK has been a secret lifelong dream. It was my first watch. I own several G-SHOCK watches and I remember from a very young age a friend of mine had one with a transparent strap and from that day I always thought about how amazing it would be to create my own. I always look at the G-SHOCK brand very fondly too because it’s the exact same age as me, I have literally grown up alongside the brand.
‘King Nerd’ stands for ‘Old and New’ and I wanted to create something that showed that and that’s how I came up with the design – very traditional and ornate to go with the very modern and solid shape of the G-SHOCK. The two combined creates a great juxtaposition. It’s almost as if these two different styles shouldn’t work together but upon seeing the watch the ornate design in a contemporary print colour works perfectly with the fun and modern look of the watch. These kinds of ornate patterns have been used in engraving for many, many years on the likes of weapons and armour, and the ceilings and insides of buildings. My designs follow that same route in style but over the years I’ve evolved my patterns with a more contemporary look. Being into graffiti and growing up as a street kid in London, my designs have that incorporated into them ever so slightly.

About the Watch Design. Introducing the GM6900SG-9A, another addition to the G-SHOCK Metal Covered lineup with a stainless steel bezel that has been designed based on a GOLD INGOT motif. Based on the DW6900 which features a round form, triple inset dials and a front button, this new iteration sports a gold ip stainless steel bezel with a clear semi-transparent resin band.

About the Watch Design. Introducing a red and gold G-SHOCK GM6900 Metal Covered series designed to commemorate Chinese New Year for 2021. Resin bands combined with a stainless steel bezel that is forged, cut, and polished in ways that leaves a distinctive finish. The GM6900CX uses a glossy red finish that enhances the luster of its face and band. The back cover of this model is engraved with a logo based on the zodiac symbol for an ox. The package of this model is done in red and gold coloring to identify as a special model.
