Enjoy Japanese Unique Features in MRG-B2100!

Multi-component structure enabling most sophisticated polish ever
The bezel is formed from a total of 27 separate components instead of a single piece. Each part is polished prior to assembly to give the watch a distortion-free finish, right down to the most challenging spots, like recessed portions. The band, too, has dimpled portions constructed with separate componentry. The artisanal craftwork shines through each and every component — just look at the stunning, distortion-free mirror finishes created with Sallaz polishing.

Multi-Guard Structure with the toughness to support an intricate form
Buffering is inserted between the parts of the multi-component bezel and case, providing excellent shock-absorption to help absorb impacts to the module.

Super-hard alloys developed in Japan, combining strength with beauty
The top bezel is made with COBARION, an alloy boasting a hardness about four times that of pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum. The band links employ DAT55G, a titanium alloy with a hardness about three times that of pure titanium that offers excellent processability. With these super-hard alloys developed in Japan, Casio achieved an exterior design that ensures both strength and beauty. A special Ti64 titanium alloy is used for the case, case back and buttons.

Dial design inspired by kigumi concept from Japanese aesthetics
The dial design incorporates special decorative aspects inspired by traditional Japanese kigumi wooden joinery techniques. The base surface is given a corrugated form with an intricate series of openings to create a geometric pattern beautifully expressing a latticework worldview. The elaborate series of openings in the face let enough light through for solar power generation, allowing the dial to be given a profound metallic black finish. In addition, the index mark at 12 o’clock features an intricately assembled two-part structure. This kind of craftwork, which demands the very highest precision, is only possible thanks to the fine processing technologies of Yamagata Casio.

Slim case with a shock-resistant crown
A slimmed down form of the original MR-G Clad Guard Structure allows the incorporation of componentry to guard the crown. This makes it possible to maintain the streamlined profile of the 2100 line while also giving the crown shock resistance. A special construction keeps the MR-G logo, engraved on the crown, horizontally aligned when the crown is screw-locked.

Solar-powered timekeeping with Bluetooth® and radio control for enhanced accuracy and reliability

Super Illuminator (high-brightness LED light) for maintaining watch readability in the dark

Scratch-resistant, highly transparent sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating

Official Casio Description.

Introducing the first of the 2100 line of iconic G-SHOCK styles to bear the MR-G name. A study in metal craftsmanship, the MRG-B2100 features case and bezel components made with the super-hard titanium alloy, Ti64. The bezel top is fashioned from COBARION, an alloy that is four times harder than pure titanium and has a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum. The band is made of another special titanium alloy, DAT55G, which is both extremely hard and highly workable. The bezel alone consists of 27 different components, each individually polished for a stunning detailed texture. The state-of-the-art Multi-Guard Structure incorporates buffers between the parts of the multi-component bezel and case to ensure outstanding shock absorption for the bezel, and protects the dedicated MR-G module with a gold-plated retainer plate. We make the most of these extra-hard alloys, and their scratch-resistance and ability to stand up to mirror finishing, with extensive use of lustrous mirror finishes and diamond-like carbon coating to add a brilliant black sheen. The watch face is inspired by the traditional Japanese art of interlocking woodwork called kigumi, which like the bezel of this MRG-B2100 involves myriad small components. This traditional art is reflected in the intricately assembled two-part structure of the index marks and the depth and dimension of the latticework dial. The tiny openings in the face — craftwork that demands the very highest precision in processing technology — let enough light through to generate the solar power to keep you up to speed. This masterpiece is more than just a splendid celebration of metal. It delivers outstanding functionality, as well, with radio-controlled calibration and smartphone pairing via Bluetooth®.
