The Ultimate Guide to All G-SHOCKs — composed by Experts

Speculations have been circulating online for about a month now regarding the upcoming Rangeman, but as usual, the Japanese company is in no rush to disclose any details. However, insiders have already shared a few images, although they are not of the highest quality, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the GPR-H1000. The previous release of the GPR-B1000 in 2018 didn’t make a significant impact on fans, resulting in declining sales and CASIO’s decision to discontinue its production. Will this new attempt be more successful?

One of the leaked images is labeled as “GPS, 6-Sensor, BLE.” The six sensors are likely to be the same as those found in the GBD-H2000: an optical heart rate sensor (indicated by the “H” in the series name), pedometer, barometer, thermometer, compass, and gyroscope. As it is a flagship model, it is expected to have a separate GPS module that functions independently of the smartphone’s GPS. BLE stands for Bluetooth Low Energy. All of this will be controlled by a MIP display and powered by solar energy (with the possibility of USB charging for the power-hungry heart rate monitor and GPS). Essentially, CASIO seems to be creating a fusion of the GPR-B1000 and GBD-H2000, blending sporty functionality with survival features for harsh conditions.

The array of sensors seems quite extensive, don’t you agree? While the added protection is undoubtedly beneficial, we still have questions about the comfort and dimensions of the watch’s case.

Based on the “Mud Resist” label on the strap, it appears that the case will receive enhanced protection against dirt, dust, and other small particles. Currently, we are aware of two available colors: black and yellow. However, considering CASIO’s usual practice, we can anticipate the release of three colors simultaneously (perhaps even a dark green option).

We have some doubts about the rumored $500 price tag reported by insiders, as it seems quite appealing for a watch with such a comprehensive set of features. Sales are set to begin in January-February 2024, and we eagerly await its arrival.
