Casio has introduced an update to the Mudmaster, the G-Shock GWG-1000, by incorporating Bluetooth technology. This decision was made based on the results of a survey, which revealed that a majority of users desired watches with connectivity options.
The newly launched GWG-B1000 maintains the design elements of its predecessor, the GWG-1000, but with a few additions. A subdial has been included at three o’clock, featuring a beautiful analog compass indicator. Additionally, a vertical graph at nine o’clock displays the barometric differential of atmospheric pressure and the battery status. The sapphire crystal and steel bezel contribute to its sturdy construction.
The GWG-B1000 is equipped with the 5713 module, offering a range of features. These include sunrise/sunset time (requiring Bluetooth and a dedicated app), a 24-hour chronograph, world time, and five alarms. However, the timer is limited to one hour. It is worth noting that the watch has a thickness of 18 mm, which is consistent with other Mudmaster models. It weighs 119 grams.
Initially, three variants of the GWG-B1000 will be available in the market. The standard model is the GWG-B1000-1A, while the maroon strap version is called GWG-B1000-1A4. Lastly, there is a military-inspired OD green variant named GWG-B1000-3A. Casio plans to start selling these watches in October.
