What we like in GWG-1000 *by casiofanmag editors with 10+ years of experience writing about CASIO watches
Tough Solar / Solar powered. It’s an ideal solution for a reliable watch. There is no need to recharge it with the cable.
Radio-controlled Watch / Multiband 6 (ideal time accuracy. The watch adjusts the time automatically)
ABC Sensor (Digital compass, Altimeter/Barometer, Thermometer).
Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating (scratch-resistant, very clear, and transparent)
Neobrite on hands and core numbers (excellent “natural” illumination without battery consumption)
Stopwatch (1/100-second, 23:59’59.99)
Countdown timer (60 minutes)
Hand shift feature (Hands move out of the way to provide an unobstructed view of digital display contents.)
Hourly time signal (a primitive feature, but we like it)
Double auto LED light (for the face & the digital display)
Screw Lock Crown (for more convenient functions management. You can scroll some functions up & down)
Hand shift feature (Hands move out of the way to provide an unobstructed view of digital display contents.)
It is the most versatile for changing straps
What we don’t like in GWG-1000 *by casiofanmag editors with 10+ years of experience writing about CASIO watches
The watch is large (56.7 × 56.1 × 18 mm vs traditional 48.9 × 42.8 × 13.4 mm in DW-5600)
The LCD data is challenging to read (you need to have either a good light or activate the illumination)
No Vibration alarm (which is a must if you work on a noisy work)
Outdated functions (no bluetooth, steptracker, etc)
It is still quite expensive

About the Watch in short. The flagship of the G-Shock Mudmaster line and the owner of the most massive case is 59.5 mm high and 56.1 mm wide. The buttons and other parts of the case are designed in such a way that no dirt, sand or dust can get inside, and the module is surrounded by alphaGEL special anti-vibration material – thus, the GWG-1000 can be called one of the most protected jishoks. The triple sensor can measure temperature and air pressure, altitude and direction of travel as a degree measure of angle with respect to the north. Tough Movement’s hard-drive technology automatically corrects hands if they are out of sync with digital time, and the Smart Access crown provides quick access to all of the watch’s key features. And that’s not all – the solar battery is responsible for the power, which is recharged from daylight, and the time is calibrated automatically by the signals of the radio towers. The dial is covered with sapphire crystal, which is almost impossible to scratch randomly.

Solar Power. None-Stop – A solar panel converts even weak illumination from fluorescent lighting into electric power. A rechargeable battery with a large power storage capacity supports stable operation of various functions with high electricity consumption. You never have to worry about the battery running down because it’s a solar battery. Casio watches with solar technology, receive thermal and electrical energy that recharges the watch batteries through solar panels on the face of the watch.

MultiBand 6. Terrestrial radio wave reception from 6 transmission stations worldwide. Automatic time correction available in Japan, North America, UK, Europe and China.
— Reception is possible even when surrounded by buildings.
— Signals are received during the night to keep the displayed time exact. — Reception is possible with less than normal power consumption.

Smart Access. This analog control system combines Multi Mission Drive, which assigns multiple functions to individual hands, with an electronic crown switch. World Time city selection is conducted with simple crown operation, providing quick access to the times in the world’s major cities.

Multi-motor construction. Smooth switching of the various displays is achieved by a drive mechanism including an optimized number of motors. Electronic Crown Switch. Smart Access makes it easy to operate CASIO’s multi-function watches. Simply pulling out and rotating the crown provides intuitive control over world time city selection and various other functions.

Tough Movement. Tough Solar, Multiband 6, Auto Hand Home Position Correction and Hybrid Mount Construction. These four technologies combine in a radio-controlled, solar-powered analogue movement that elevates the reliability of solar-powered, radio-controlled analog watches to new heights.

Enjoy our G-Shock GWG-1000 Watch Review

The appearance of the series is not just beautiful, it amazes all traditional watchmakers. It turns out that it was also possible … The style of the shooter, yellow accents, a large digital panel – all this is very harmoniously combined with an aggressive and massive body that protects the module under the watchful rim of the polyurethane structure. If we also take into account the fact that the switch format as a whole is rather fragile, the Japanese managed to make a breakthrough in this matter. Read Full Review →

Official Casio Description. This new MUDMASTER model was created especially for this whose work takes it into areas where piles of rubble, dirt, and debris are present.
A special vibration-resistant construction lets them stand up to wear while operating cutters, crushers, drills and other heavy machinery to clear way large obstacles. This is CASIO’s first analog watch to come with Mud Resist construction, which helps to ensure that nothing gets into the watch when down and dirty work takes you deep into the dirt and sludge. Multiple gaskets are used on the pipes that guide buttons and shafts, which keeps mud out. These pipes not only act to protect buttons from impact, they also enhance button operation. The screw-in force of the screw lock bezel on an internal gasket further increases mud resistance.
A new bezel structure lets you visually check whether the bezel has been screwed in adequately.
