In Europe, several shops have already begun listing the GPR-H1000 with a note stating that it will soon be available for presale. This indicates clear plans to release the new product in the near future, specifically in January or February of 2024. While the complete list of specifications is not yet available, insiders from Europe have shared some high-quality renders that provide some insights.

Based on the renders, it appears that the GPR-H1000 will have a substantial size, particularly in terms of width. This is due to the two steel covers for the sensors on the sides. This is a departure from the usual RANGEMAN design, which has always catered to individuals with larger hands and a need for survival in harsh conditions. The dimensions of the GPR-B1000, for example, were 60.3 ร— 57.7 ร— 20.2 mm, which many people may not have paid much attention to.

The overall appearance of the GPR-H1000 resembles a combination of the Mudmaster and G-Squad models, and fans were delighted with the round MIP-display format. There is even an opportunity to examine the case from the inside. The manufacturer has taken a serious approach to protecting the watch against dirt, dust, and other particles by incorporating buttons with additional cork pads (similar to the GWG-B1000) and separate steel locks.

The case and strap of the GPR-H1000 are made of bioplastic, a material that the Japanese company is embracing and incorporating into their products. Bioplastic performs similarly to regular rubber in terms of durability and tactile sensations, as it has already been tested. It remains to be seen how significant this is for the target audience, but Casio seems committed to using bioplastic across their range.

The GPR-H1000’s functional core is borrowed from the GBD-H2000 model and includes features such as an optical heart rate sensor, acceleration sensor (pedometer), gyroscope, barometer, thermometer, digital compass, separate training modes (running, cycling, workout, swimming, etc.), and sleep quality tracking. This raises the question of whether the Rangeman is now transitioning into a sports watch or if Casio has simply decided to consolidate multiple functionalities into a single model.

The GPR-H1000 will come with its own GPS module for tracking purposes. This means that the watch can independently and autonomously record route points with detailed information on altitude, temperature, and azimuth. In the corresponding application, users will be able to visualize their route, with “red” zones indicating areas of maximum load and high calorie expenditure. The watch can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. While power-hungry functions such as GPS and the heart rate sensor require a wired USB charger, solar power is sufficient for other scenarios. Under the back cover, one can find the iconic wild cat ranger symbol, representing the Rangeman range.

The presale price for the GPR-H1000 is listed at 500 euros, which is approximately $540 based on the current exchange rate. Overall, this is a reasonable price for a top-tier watch. This is all the information we currently have regarding the upcoming GPR-H1000.
