Casio ProTrek PRG-240 Watches

Representative of the tourist destination ProTrek with a triple sensor of the past generation. The model is still relevant due to its universal design, the most informative display and functionality. On board is a triple sensor [barometer / altimeter, thermometer and compass] for studying environmental indicators and direction of movement, information on sunrise and sunset times [useful during fishing and not only] and frost resistance of the hull [stable operation of the display and module at temperature to -20 ° C]. The solar battery forever closes the issue of the need for periodic battery replacement. Thanks to the rotating bezel, you can easily operate with compass data [direction of movement and degree measure of the angle with respect to magnetic north]. The basic functionality is also present – a stopwatch, timer, alarm clock, world clock, calendar.

PROs
+ solar powered is brilliant, no danger of loosing battery power
+ back light is good with variable time durations
+ the ease of use
+ fantastic looking watch
+ a huge array of functions. Great quality
+ the structure is very durable made to last in all conditions but do not test it as if you were Gshock

CONs
– temperature is the temp of your wrist
– the altimeter to be erratic
– the strap loop is very resitent although it can bother if the watch is snug to the wrist
– the wind rose ring external is not snap, so it moves with the friction of the clothes, as it only serves when we orient it with respect to the digital compass

— Tough Solar (CASIO’s original solar-charging system converts not only sunlight but also light from fluorescent lamps and other sources into power)
— Digital compass (measures and displays direction as one of 16 points)
— Thermometer (can measure and display the outside temperature in a range from -10 C to 60 C)
Barometer (measures the air pressures and displays tendencies in the weather)
Altimeter (The electronic mechanism “estimates” the altitude based on the air pressure)
Duplex LCD (Giving you a constant overview: Elements on the display are distinguished from one another using colour. This is achieved using different coloured layers placed on top of one another, allowing information to be displayed more clearly)

Official Marketing Focus from Casio

The evolution of PROTREK never stops. These new models embody some of the very best in functional beauty and ease of operation that modern technology has to offer.

• The rotary bezel is specially shaped for easy operation, even while wearing gloves. Large letters indicating north, south, east, and west are colored for easy reading.
Dedicated direction, barometer, and altitude buttons provide one-touch access to measurements. Buttons are large with slanted diamond patterns for plenty of slip resistance during operation.
Since “easy to press” often also means “more operation error”, the back cover is designed to make it the same height of the button surfaces, which greatly reduces the chance of operation error. The result is easy button operation, but only when you need it to be.

The number of pointer lines has been increased from 60 to 72 for easier to read World Time and sunrise times. TOUGH SOLAR ensures stable operation even when using power-hungry functions.
