New features in GPR-H1000 *in comparison with previous series
The most advanced RANGEMAN ever existed (by 2024)
The first RANGEMAN with in-built GPS & in-built Heart Rate Sensor
The first RANGEMAN with BIO plastic Case, Bezel & Band
The first RANGEMAN with six sensors + GPS (optical heart rate sensor, acceleration sensor, gyro sensor, magnetic/pressure/temperature sensor)
The first RANGEMAN with Multi-Sports Modes (Trekking, Running, Bike, Swimming, Gym workout)
What we like in GPR-H1000 *by casiofanmag editors with 10+ years of experience writing about CASIO watches
Amazing G-SHOCK Look in a Tough Case with Multi-Sports Features (differs significantly from Polar, Garmin, and alike)
The most advanced Survival Kit to be used in a G-SHOCK
Excellent readability (very distinct numbers even in the shadow)
In-built Heart Rate Sensor (makes the watch more useful for sports activities, cardio load status monitoring, and calories consumption)
In-built GPS (used for distance, speed, pace, and other similar measurements)
It can be used for running, swimming, and similar sports (it has dedicated modes for different sports)
Solar-assisted charging (suitable for the timekeeping mode; you shouldn’t worry about battery replacement while using it as a traditional watch)
Interval Timer (you can set different intervals, repeat them, and use them for any activity). Good for functional workouts
Step Count Measurement (via energy-efficient 3-axis acceleration sensor). You can monitor your daily/weekly/monthly/6-month activity status by changing the screens in the watch. Step reminder is also useful
Moon data (moon age of the specific data, moon phase)
Tide Graph (shows the ebb and flow of the tide)
Sunrise sunset time display (good for planning your walking activities)
Vibrator feature for notifications
Notification function (incoming calls, incoming e-mails, new social media posts, calendar notifications, reminders)
Blood Oxygen Level Measurement (Covid times require such a function)
Compass, Altimeter, Thermometer
Push-friendly buttons (very convenient to use them)
Amazing MIP screen adjustments (you can choose different screens with different data to be used as default)
Calories consumption monitoring
Super Illuminator Light (a high-brightness LED that automatically lights up in the dark when the wearer’s arm is tilted)
Smartphone Link/App Connectivity Features (for time sync and watch adjustments)
Polar Software for better measurement opportunities (Running Index, Cardio Load Status, Energy Used, Breathing Exercise, Nightly Recharge)
Hourly Time Signal (a simple CASIO feature, but we like it. P.S. You need to update your watch software for this feature to appear. With outdated software, the watch doesn’t have it)
What we don’t like in GPR-H1000 *by casiofanmag editors with 10+ years of experience writing about CASIO watches
Solar-assisted charging (enough for timekeeping mode, but not enough for sports modes).
Thick (because of the Heart Sensor bulkiness: 20.3 mm VS traditional 13.4 mm in DW-5600)
Raw CASIO software (can bug at times, but they are improving it)
No import to third-party apps like Strava (can be fixed with a new software update)
It can take a long time (1min or so) to get the GPS signal (can be fixed with a new software update)
It still requires additional cable charging (which is relevant to all sports watches)
MIP display functions have fewer dynamics in comparison with traditional TN-LCD or STN-LCD (slower refresh rates, no milliseconds)
It doesn’t support chest heart rate sensor for more accurate measurement
It is not so that independent, autonomous like previous Rangeman watches (but more functional)
Has almost the same features as in GBD-H2000

About the Watch in short.

G-SHOCK’s MASTER OF G series “Rangeman” is designed for use in harsh environments. A tough watch equipped with a heart rate monitor and GPS function. In addition to the mud resist structure, it uses a high-definition, high-contrast, easy-to-read MIP liquid crystal. You can customize the screen to suit the situation. It supports activities in harsh environments and allows you to carry out activities while keeping track of your own exercise status. It also includes a tide graph that shows the ebb and flow of the tide. The texture of the band surface makes it difficult to slip even with wet fingers due to sudden rain. Biomass plastic is used for the case, bezel, and band.

Metal side guard for hard use
Large metal parts guard the left and right sides of the case to protect precision devices such as modules, sensors, and GPS antennas from shocks such as drops and collisions. A forged button guard is placed on the 9 o’clock side where the main control buttons are located. The sensor cover on the 3 o’clock side is intricately shaped using MIM (metal injection molding), which is injection molding of powdered metal.

Mud resist buttons that withstand harsh environments.
The button is protected with a cylinder-shaped stainless steel part, and the button shaft is equipped with a gasket to prevent dirt and dust from entering. The top surface features an anti-slip design that resembles a target mark. We have pursued practicality that enables more reliable multi-functional control in harsh natural environments, including fields where debris and dirt are scattered, and situations such as bad weather.

Measurement functions that support field activities.
Supports measurement of 9 types of activities including trekking. Furthermore, it is equipped with functions designed for outdoor use, such as the ability to display direction, altitude/barometric pressure, temperature, and tide graphs.

6 sensors + GPS function to measure behavior in real time
Equipped with six sensors including a heart rate monitor, it accurately senses body movements and changes in the natural environment. It also has a built-in GPS function and can measure position, distance, moving speed, etc. Track various movements in real time.

Soft urethane band designed for wearability
The band is made of soft urethane material that feels comfortable on your wrist. The same material is also used for the back band piece to reduce interference with the back of the hand and improve the fit. The surface has a non-slip texture, making it suitable for use near water. The band piece is engraved with the silhouette of a RANGEMAN character, a wild cat.

Biomass plastic
“Biomass plastic” is used for the main resin parts of the bezel, case, and band. It uses renewable organic resources as raw materials and is expected to contribute to reducing environmental impact.

App integration function to easily set goals and manage progress.
Displays current performance and condition based on various data measured by the watch. For data analysis, we use Polar’s algorithm, which has a reputation for training analysis centered on heart rate data.

Support functions useful for self-management
It also includes functions useful for recovery, health management, and log management. Various data is displayed on the watch and app in an easy-to-understand manner, allowing you to check daily activity records and training status.

Solar assisted charging
It supports training functions such as GPS measurement and heart rate monitor, as well as smart functions such as notifications and step counting with USB charging. Even if the battery charge is low, the time display will continue to be driven only by solar charging.

Super illuminator to ensure visibility in dark places
